With this Torah On Location lesson – PART 2, our study takes us to a lonely mountaintop site in the political land of Jordan. The site is referred to as Macherus or Mukawir. It stands nearly opposite of Ein Gedi looking out west over the Dead Sea from its east side. Here, at Mukawir, the events of Mark 6:21-29 (also Matthew 14:6-12) took place. Here, Yochanan (John) the Immerser (the “Baptist”) lost his life following the actions of Herodius’ daughter, who danced for King Antipas (Yeshua calls him “that fox”) at this site. On this program of Torah On Location, we will travel to the dance floor on top of the mountain and examine the events of the story.
