On this Torah On Location program we are going to have a close look into the history and location of Mount Tzion, which is called in Hebrew, “Ir David” or the City of David in 2 Samuel 5. The City of David was the original Jerusalem under David’s united monarchy. Why did he choose to take that lonely oblong hill that sits between two valleys – the Kidron and the Tyropean – as the “capital” of the new Israelite kingdom of David?
