In Judges Chapter 4, we’ll have a close look at the biblical narrative of Israel’s Prophetess D’vorah (Deborah) as it unfolds in connection to her military commander Barak ben Avinoam. We’ll study this event on location in the actual theatre of the military operations between the 10,000 men that were under the command of Barak in a confrontation against the 10s of thousands of men and their 900 iron chariots under the command of Sisera, the military general of Yavin (Jabin), king of Canaanite Hatzor. Who wins the battle and what is the “take-away” lesson for us? Judges 4 and 5 gives us the details and we’ll look at this story in two parts!
