With this Torah On Location lesson – PART 1 Climbing Mount Nebo – we are going to have a close look at D’varim (Deuteronomy) 34:1-6.

This biblical narrative describes the closing days and teachings of Moshe. This event happened here at Mount Nebo (Har Nevo). What you may not know (and you will learn in this lesson) is the word play on the Hebrew terms Nevo (the mountain), Lavo (term for the Messiah), and Navi (term for a Prophet). All of this will play into our understanding of the Brit haChadasha Book of Acts 3:22-23 as it references Deuteronomy 18:15-20. In this series of lessons from Har Nevo we will also have a look at the strong possibility that this mountain was the chosen mountain for Yeshua’s transfiguration as recorded in Luke 9.
